Mark has over 25 years of experience in the remediation industry. He has been involved in many large site investigations and remediation projects throughout the UK, Ireland and internationally in countries such as Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and China.
His education includes a PhD in Microbiology and he is recognised as one of the leading authorities on site remediation techniques in the UK and Ireland. He is responsible for developing several innovative methods for treating hydrocarbon impacted sites as well as having a wealth of experience in the use of many of the industry standard remediation technologies. Mark is also qualified to COTC NVQ Level 4 in the management of Hazardous Waste Remediation
Before starting ATG, he was the Managing Director of Alpha Environmental Systems Ltd. He led that company from start-up in 1993 to a turnover of £5 million in 2005, whilst building a positive reputation in the industry and maintaining healthy profit margins.
Mark started ATG in 2006 as a sole trader and incorporated it as a limited company in June 2007. He has grown the company from a start-up to a turnover of £5.6 million in 2018.
Ciaran joined the company in 2014 as our Environmental Director. Before coming to work with us, Ciaran was an Environmental Manager for a large nationwide oil spill contractor in the Republic of Ireland. In this role, he gained considerable experience in the project management of many small, medium and large-scale remediation projects in both the residential and commercial sectors. Through his career, he has worked on many successful projects across the UK, Ireland and Isle of Man.
Ciaran leads our project management team and is responsible for liaising with clients, contractors and relevant authorities to ensure that each remediation project is successfully concluded on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Ciaran also ensures our company is compliant with Health and Safety legislation and Environmental legislation.
Cameron joined the company in August 2016 as our Project Director. He has a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University. After graduating university, he became a site engineer for a national construction company in Scotland. He was promoted to senior engineer and worked on several of Scotland’s largest road and rail infrastructure projects. He then gained further experience and knowledge working on several large civil engineering projects that include wind farms and substation projects. Cameron went on to start his own successful civil engineering company, before shifting focus into the environmental and remediation sector.
Cameron’s role in ATG is to develop and enhance the company profile in Scotland. He has been successful in introducing us to several large clients and contractors and has been key in growing our business in Scotland to what it is today.
Peter joined the company in 2011 as our Director of Technical Services. Peter’s background includes extensive project management experience for a national construction firm where he successfully delivered many medium-large developments across the island of Ireland. Peter then went on to become a Regional Contracts Manager for a major facilities management company before joining ATG.
In 2019, Peter was appointed our Projects Director, which involves him overseeing project management, environmental product sales & support and spill response for domestic, industrial and marine incidents. Peter is a qualified Level 5 Incident Controller through the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s oil spill response course.
Jacqui has over 30 years’ experience in administration, in both the security and environmental sectors. She became ATG’s Administrative Director in 2007. Jacqui is tasked with the smooth running of our offices and she heads up our Admin, HR and Accounts departments. Jacqui has led our outward focused recruitment, and more than 20 students from Northern Ireland’s universities have undertaken a placement with us, 5 of which were offered full-time positions after graduation.
